The Tax Commissioner's office has a process called Judicial in Rem, which means, properties go through a procedure with Superior Court, which reduces the redemption period to 60 days.  The Judicial In Rem process is explained below:

• They just released a new Judicial in Rem list that will have about 1,200 new properties added to it.  When posted, the list can be found at www.maconbibbtax.us  Go to General Information, then click on Judicial In Rem Sale.  The first bullet point has the link for the Registration form, the second bullet point has the link for the JIR Property Listing.

The properties on site have a clear title and are for sale at the listed price.  An application must be completed to acquire each property. An application must include additional documents outlining a proposed property improvement project to be considered for approval. Please review our application requirements and contact the Land Bank Authority, if you are interested in acquiring one of these properties.
